This challenge pathway is designed to support learners engaging in cross-curricular lessons or STEM clubs. Learners will find out about farming equipment used in arable farming and how innovations lead to real-world problems on farm being imagined. Learners identify a range of problems that farmers face linked to issues around the environment and sustainability that could be solved with engineering solutions.

Learners following the pathway will develop engineering habits of mind as they work through different stages of the engineering design cycle linked to functions of farming equipment. At the end of the pathway they will they be given the opportunity to demonstrate those skills while working through the complete engineering design cycle in response to the Engineering Educates Challenge.
