Designed around young people aged between 7-14 years, SEERIH launched the Greater Manchester Engineering Challenge (GMEC) in 2017. Enabling young people to experience engineering first-hand and for teachers to work alongside engineers as part of a bespoke training programme.

The Engineering Educates Challenge is developed in partnership with STEM organisations and charities.

The University of Manchester and its Science & Engineering Education Research and Innovation Hub assume no liability with regard to injuries or damage to property that may occur as a result of engaging in the Engineering Educates challenges or when using any activities or resources included in this website. This campaign is designed to be carried out by 7-14 year olds working with an adult. The adult is fully responsible for ensuring the activity is carried out safely.

Engineering Educates recommends that before undertaking any of the practical investigations contained in this resource you engage with the guidance and up-to-date advice from your Health and Safety adviser / organisation on how to do so safely.
