Engineering Educates Robotics Challenges Now Accredited for CREST!

We’re excited to announce that the Engineering Educates Robotics Challenges are now officially accredited for use in the British Science Association’s CREST programme! This means that young people, typically ages 10-14, participating in EngEd Robotics Challenges can now gain national recognition for their achievements through Discovery CREST Awards

What is CREST?

CREST is the British Science Association’s education programme that provides hands-on, flexible, inspiring and impactful activities and projects that engage and reward young people aged 3-19 of all abilities, bringing science, technology, engineering, and maths (STEM) to life. Through hands-on activities and exciting projects, CREST:

  • sparks curiosity

  • builds confidence

  • connects young people with real-world STEM

By completing the required number of CREST challenges or submitting their own projects which later are assessed, students can earn globally recognised CREST Awards. A CREST Award is more than just a certificate, it’s a way to reward young people’s achievements and provide evidence of their accomplishments in science, technology, engineering, and maths.

Why is this Accreditation Important?

The aims of the CREST Awards are perfectly aligned with those of Engineering Educates

  • Inclusive – open to all, regardless of background or ability

  • Child-led – encouraging young people to take ownership of their learning

  • Non-competitive – focusing on personal growth and discovery

Now, by completing an EngEd Robotics Challenge, young people (suggested age range 10-14) can earn a Discovery CREST Award, a fantastic way to celebrate their creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills.

How to Apply – It’s Simple!

Getting started is easy:

  1. Create an account on the CREST Awards application platform

  2. Download the CREST Discovery Passport

  3. Complete the EngEd Robotics Challenge of your choice

  4. Give young people the opportunity to communicate their findings through a group presentation

  5. Submit your application online

That’s it! Your learners will be on their way to earning a CREST Award that recognises their hard work and innovation.

These are essential skills for the future, and the Discovery CREST Award is a brilliant way to showcase them.
